Hi guys, I tried the shadow beta client but since i have a NVIDIA GPU it doesnt work.

My motherboard-Chipset has an iGPU (ATI Radeon™ HD 3000) - do you guys think shadow will work with the iGPU?

It didnt work with the Windows-Client - thats why I bought the NVIDIA Card in the first place. But I dont want to use Windows anymore.

If the iGPU doesnt work - do you think a cheap AMD Radeon R7 260X will work with shadow beta?

Thank you in advance for your help guys.

Cheers

I am getting this issue.

chmod: cannot access 'wrapper.pl': No such file or directory

I just uploaded a patched libva-vdpau-driver package to AUR ( https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/libva-vdpau-driver-shadow/ ) which seems to make shadow-beta work on Nvidia cards with the proprietary drivers and VDPAU (at least it does on the two machines I've tried so far). No H.265 support, but regular H.264 seems to run fine. You have to use the --bypass-check option to override the compatibility test.

If anyone tries it out and finds it broken (or working), please let me know over there or on GitHub. :)

libva-utils should be a dependency for this packages. vainfo is necessary for the start of shadow-beta

I'm happy to report that using the appimage installation from https://nicolasguilloux.github.io/blade-shadow-beta/ works perfectly!

I didn't even have this package installed and removed the things I had done previously. I just put the commands in a shell script and executed it, and then it launched the GUI with no issues. I hit connect and boom, there's the Windows desktop! Mouse and keyboard worked perfectly but the mouse was ridiculously sensitive.

Since my modded Skyrim is crashing I ran Unigine's SuperPosition benchmark and it ran without issues! So it looks like Shadow works on Linux now, I was going to say "On Nvidia GPUs" because I have one of the hybrid GPUs in my laptop, but then I remembered it's probably running off the Intel GPU unless they really did fix Nvidia support.

Ah, that explains the freezes on both my laptop and my server, laptop has an mx940 and my server has a GTX 1070.
