I'm having a bit of a problem with this. When I try to install it following the manual process with makepkg, I end up with
==> Starting package()...
- Extracting appimage
-- Set execution permissions
-- Extracting icon
==> ERROR: A failure occurred in package().
Aborting...
-> error making: simplex-desktop-appimage-exit status 4
-> Failed to install the following packages. Manual intervention is required:
simplex-desktop-appimage - exit status 4
I initially tried with Yay but I get a very similar result with makepkg -s
==> Making package: simplex-desktop-appimage 5.7.2-1 (Thu 23 May 2024 16:59:31 BST)

This occurred after having to purge the application using yay -Rnq
as I wanted a completely fresh install from scratch.
I would have tried the git version, but that seems to be out of date.
Fuse2 is installed, as is base-devel, these were one of the first things I checked.
