Hey Ambrevar, the link to the source is down. But I have found a link if it would help you any: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntugames/+archive/ubuntu/games/+files/sorr_5.1.orig.tar.gz

Done.

@Ambrevar, you're approach is the better approach, so will accept a merge. There isn't much need for me to help such as co-maintainer, since it isn't an active project. I used the group setting approach, since I did not use a launcher such as yours. It's a nice approach. I assume you'll just submit a merge from your account by click in merge here? If so, go ahead.

I've updated the launcher so that it automatically lowercases the mod files on startup. This ensures compatibility with filesystems where case matters. I have subsequently removed the renamelower* scripts.

But it's the real name of the game... I suggest we keep my package, but of course any improvement from your package is welcome. I had a quick look at the differences. My package does not use any group setting. The custom launcher is the main change. Is there anything you'd like to port? By the way I have just updated the launcher to automatically lowercase mod files (to make them work on filesystems where case matters).

@Ambrevar, oh I was not aware of the package. Sure, what do you want me to do? Maybe I just didn't notice it, the package name is a bit long.

By the way it seems like soronline.net removed the download restriction. This package should work perfectly again!

This package is a duplicate of https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/streetsofrageremake/. The latter overcomes the permission issue by symlinking into $HOME/.sorr from the launcher (path is configurable via an environment variable), which makes it possible to have per-user settings & saves. Consider a merge? Any reason for creating a new package?
