Hey, I disowned myself from the package since I don't maintain it so much. You should be able to claim it and make the necessary adjustments.

I am not sure how to contribute: I can create a repository against which you can fetch the modifications for example ? (I am not aware of other possibilities apart from sending patches)

Hey, we can find a way for you to share the new details or you can also directly contribute to this package and upload the patch?

Hi ! If you want, I have a patch to update the package to v4.19.2 ! I can share it if you want (though it is just a sha and a version change)

Wow, thanks a lot :-)
I assume there might be some politics to end up building a fork of element rather than using new vector's one. AUR is not a chat, so I will stop here and ask the question upstream ;-)

Hi! Yes it is possible to use the Element app with Tchap servers.
You should have a Tchap (Matrix) username in the form of @<username>-<institution-domain>:<tchap-domain>. Copy the <tchap-domain> part.
On the Element landing page, select Sign in > edit the homeserver URL > paste the <tchap-domain> copied earlier > Continue. The 'Continue with ProConnect' option should be available now.

Works nice now ! Thank you, and thanks for pointing the upstream bug. You seem to indicate that it might be possible to use the element app with tchap servers ? I thought that it was not possible ?
T.

By the way, the closing window when minimizing (instead of going to the system tray) is an upstream bug. If you wish to use an app that supports it, Element does (Tchap is forked from Element).
