@sdp8483: Unfortunately, this doesn't help me either. I still have the same problem.
What is the best way to proceed so that all remnants are uninstalled before reinstalling the package?

For tips on how to update this package: https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Makepkg#Usage
TLDR: Use makepkg -c -si
to remove old version and install new version, the -c
flag cleans the vuescan-bin
directory.

Since some days I also always get an "Canceled (memory dump written)" when starting vuescan using the latest 9.8.31-1 from this AUR.
I can confirm that the vuex64-9.8.31.tgz version (locally unpacked) from the homepage (hamrick.com) works.

I completely deleted and reinstalled viewscan-bin. The problem is still the same.

ok so after some research this has to be something wrong with this AUR package fresh vuescan download works when I add the manually downloaded OCR files it still works just when built from this script and installed it aborts
could you try a fresh rebuild on an up to date system?

No idea, here is starting fine, libadwaita 1.5.0 installed
Redi commented on 2024-04-03 21:05 (UTC)
Any idea why it just "Aborted (core dumped)"? Everything up to date. Nothing about any GTK warnings or adwaita etc.

THE PKGBUILD IS NOW CONSIDERED LIKE A VCS ONE, THIS MEAN IT WILL NOT BE BUMPED FOR EVERY VERSION, REPORT ONLY BUILD PROBLEMS NOT NEW VERSIONS!!

OCR is only available for the professional edition, OCR files should be splitted to a separate pkgbuild? Send your opinion at my email

The pkgbuild is now considered like a VCS one, this mean it will NOT be bumped for every version, report ONLY build problems not new versions.
