@Rhinoceros - I finally got screen sharing to work under KDE with Wayland. Looks like I'm using the same versions as you:

  • Zoom 6.2.10
  • pipewire 1.2.6

I followed the Screen share section on the Zoom wiki page:

https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Zoom_Meetings

The only thing I didn't need to do was set XDG_CURRENT_DESKTOP=gnome. I followed the other steps, and now I can choose my desktop/window to share. Prior to following the wiki I couldn't stop screen sharing without the hanging issue, which I was experiencing prior to 6.2.10.

I contacted the zoom support on 13th July 2016 and tried to lure them into creating a proper PKGBUILD respectively adopting this one, considering they are providing a package over very none standard ways to the Arch Linux community (downloading via a *foreign* site) and not through the official repo or the AUR. However there was little to no progress so far.

@imchairmanm Many thanks. I added it to my watchlist and should be notified more speedily. I wounder why I did not stumble over this page. Either way thanks again!

@edh: Took a bit of searching, but this page seems to be updated regularly with their new releases. There doesn't seem to be any way to get to the previous versions, but at least they seem to be tracking the changes here: https://support.zoom.us/hc/en-us/articles/205759689-New-Updates-For-Linux

@zdosa Thanks! Updated... @gabesullice The repository multilib has to be enabled for packages which depend on 32-bit versions of libraries (lib32-* packages). @all It would be great if someone would have found a page or something similiar on which the developers announce new releases. Until now I have neither found something similiar nor have I even seen an archive of old versions (since fetching the source from there would never reseult in an broken checksum).

Took me a bit to realize I needed the multilib repository enabled, in case anyone else hits a snag and that might be the solution.

Yaaay it works like a charm! Thanks guys! =]

@morantron I added a few more dependencies which were needed for the debian package to work. I hope this fixes the sound problem as well. Please let me know whether everything is working as expected.

Sound does not work for me, any tips?
