You should make a tag or release at github for the software and use the tar.gz as source.

Hello Ricardo, there are a few issues with your pkgbuild which can be easily solved

  • this is a VCS pkgbuild at the moment and lack correlation between source=() and pkgver= as v1.0.0 don't exist; you can easily create the release on github or you can re-upload the pkgbuild as disk-benchmark and add a pkgver() function https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/VCS_package_guidelines#The_pkgver()_function
  • A license like MIT which isn't part of the licenses package need to be installed in "${pkgdir}/usr/share/licenses/${pkgname}"
  • packages of the base-devel group like gcc don't have to be in makedepends=()
