@aggraef: After having debugged yet another broken user system just now: Please, please, please change the jack dependency properly.

Add jack2 to makedepends (if you really have to) and definitely only add jack or rather libjack.so to depends. We now have jack, jack2 and pipewire-jack all providing libjack.so.

Unfortunately, the requirement of jack2 disallows the build using pipewire.

@eliasjackson, thanks for the heads up, fixed!

Accidentally deleted my comment when trying to edit it. Still getting used to this site.

Anyway, I had to change the PKGBUILD as follows to get it to work (line 38):

Old:

install Build/FaustLive/FaustLive "$pkgdir/usr/bin"

New:

install Build/bin/FaustLive "$pkgdir/usr/bin"

@dvzrv, as I understand it, it will disappear from the headers, but the libjack from Jack2 will still contain that function, because some parts of Faust need it. That ticket you linked to confirms that.

@aggraef: Being properly compatible should be the main goal actually, as this will also dissappear from jack2 (in the next release).

Yep, exactly the same thing. I've asked Stephane about it, waiting for his reply. But it looks like this is being used in the Faust MIDI code in some places, so we might be stuck with it, unless we manage to somehow write a replacement for that routine which works with Jack1.

@aggraef: Maybe this? https://github.com/jackaudio/jack2/issues/382

Updated to latest from upstream, builds against Qt5 now. @dvzrv, this still requires Jack2 for now, it won't compile against Jack1. I'm currently trying to figure out why exactly upstream requires Jack2, and whether we can work around that.
