automake is included in a base-devel group. Everyone who wants to build packages from ABS / AUR should install base-devel and packages from this group aren't listed in a makedepends array. Check the AUR Wiki entry for more information.

Can you add automake to the makedepends? I had to install it to allow it to build.

Dunno what to say. It built up fine now.

I'm sure that would only happen if the PKGBUILD were edited so that ${pkgdir}/usr/bin/HandBrakeCLI is not deleted from the handbrake-svn package. Think something is wrong with the split package.... Targets (2): handbrake-svn-3682-1 handbrake-svn-cli-3682-1 Total Download Size: 0.00 MB Total Installed Size: 43.87 MB Proceed with installation? [Y/n] checking package integrity... * 3667-1: Cosmetic changes to the PKGBUILD only. No need to rebuild! I also tried building the package with yaourt and it completed successfully.

It's the part where this isn't properly supported by the aur that bothers me :) @azleifel: > 1. Having separate PKGBUILDs would mean spending time maintaining two almost identical packages. You're pretty much doing that already, only they're both in one file > 2. If the user only needs either ghb or HandBrakeCLI then there is no point in installing both, saving 14 or 15Mb of disk space (I know that disk space is cheap but it's the principle of the thing!) If they were in two separate packages, the user wouldn't have to install both > 3. If the user wants both ghb and HandBrakeCLI installed then the build time will not be doubled (handbrake takes about 15 minutes to build on my system!) You have a point there :p
