The bpgdec has some problem. It cannot give the output. For example, I have used the command: bpgenc -q 51 -m 9 20170719_152434.png -o 20170719_152434.bpg I can get the output of the encoder 20170719_152434.bpg, but on the other hand, neither bpgdec -i 20170719_152434.bpg -o 20170719_152434.png nor bpgdec -i 20170719_152434.bpg worked. I could not find any output of the decoder. I am really confused.

@jponin Are running a 32-bit system? I had the same problem and digging further I found this: https://bitbucket.org/multicoreware/x265/issues/150/linux-x86-32-bit-yasm-error Removing -DHIGH_BIT_DEPTH=ON in the Makefile resulted in a successful build for me.

@afontenot I couldn't build version 9.7 because of what seems to me like a Macro syntax bug. The two patches are just fixing a missing spaces.

Fails to build+install (separately it works), since the .SRCINFO pkgrel doesn't match the PKGBUILD pkgrel. Just a heads up.
