@all - OK... I believe I tracked the problem down and correct it. I type this now booted into the corex package set and previously into the generic set. I just pushed the -6 release of nvidia-ck-xxx series for both arches. Please pacman -Syu and let me know if the problem is corrected on your systems as well. As with any nvidia upgrade, you'll need to either reboot your system or drop down to runlevel 3, rmmod nvidia then come back to runlevel 5. Please let me know if all is well with the -6 release.

@all - just got home and am digging into this nvidia bs. @misc - I ditched the the streamline_config.pl long time ago after a conversation with the author. He strongly recommends not using it. I'd have to dig into my archived emails to articulate the reasoning. From memory, it was not causing all needed modules to get built.

@graysky Was there a reason you removed those lines for streamline_config.pl that you once posted in the bbs? It gave the appearance that this script results in far better customization than localmodconfig.

Problem is known and graysky is working on it: https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?pid=1014372#p1014372

Me too. Updated to linux-ck-kx from repo and module nvidia refused to load.

uhmm....updated to linux-ck-corex 3.1-4 from the repo, can't start Xserver because of nvidia module missing, can't modprobe it also. the module is there anyway, but refuse to load.

Sorry about that, guys. My problem was that I tested the PKGBUILD having the bfs*.patch files already in the dir so I didn't catch the missing assignment of "_preck2" :( Anyway, thanks and updated.

Just insert this line below the initializations and you should be set: _preck2="http://ck.kolivas.org/patches/3.0/3.1/3.1.0-ck1"

Had the same issue with -5. Had to download the patches from kolivas.org before compiling package.. By the way -5 is a lot smoother too..thanks for updating!
