@graysky Could you please implement the following changes: https://git.archlinux.org/svntogit/packages.git/commit/trunk?h=packages/linux&id=c75a915313f72924fa0a3ed45356f9e0ea488f3b

Should this also be changed? https://git.archlinux.org/svntogit/packages.git/commit/trunk?h=packages/linux&id=df01e3111f453e720762a55d68a2e6de2a25f247

Thanks!

@keren_sky, did you search for 'apm_bigs' in the kernel source? I did and found nothing, but searching for 'apm_bios' gives many results, for example

$ find -name 'apm_bios*'

./include/linux/apm_bios.h ./include/uapi/linux/apm_bios.h

I would assume that the error has nothing to do with 'apm_bios*' files.

P.S. If somehow your kernel source doesn't have 'apm_bios*' files then something wrong on your side.

I see the following: CC [M] drivers/gpu/drm/nouveau/nvkm/engine/disp/dmacgv100.o fixdep: error opening file: include/linux/apm_bigs.h: No such file or directory make[4]: *** [scripts/Makefile.build:318: drivers/gpu/drm/nouveau/nvkm/engine/disp/dmacgv100.o] Error 2

Which pkg provides that file? thanks.

Edit: My fault, somehow the AUR helper didn't delete everything before rebuilding it. 4.18.5-3 does compile.

Somehow, linux-ck 4.18.5-3 and 4.18.5-1 failed building for me at the same seemingly random spot:

LDS arch/x86/kernel/vmlinux.lds
  CC [M] arch/x86/kernel/msr.o
  CC [M] arch/x86/kernel/cpuid.o
  AR arch/x86/kernel/built-in.a
  AR arch/x86/built-in.a
==> ERROR: A failure occurred in build().
    Aborting...

Thanks for your hard work @graysky! I can also confirm that it's building fine.

Great! Confirming 4.18.5-3 builds fine for me now, you did the same thing I tried by removing the DEPMOD=/doesnt/exist. :) I was just testing it out and for my particular setup there are some regressions (AMDGPU related, I have 4 monitors, tends to be finicky) so I'll hold off for now and stick with 4.17.11-6. Thank you for the quick support!

graysky commented on 2018-08-28 22:42

@zerophase - I don't think I can automate that since there is are 2 prompts...

graysky commented on 2018-08-28 22:42

4.18.5-3 builds, sorry for the fuck-up.
