I've already asked upstream for a tagged release (https://github.com/trapexit/mergerfs-tools/issues/59) but that is unlikely to happen, see https://github.com/trapexit/mergerfs-tools/issues/123

But yes, it might be good practice to add them.

Also, just noticed: please kindly add the provides and conflicts as per Arch guidelines:

provides=('mergerfs-tools')
conflicts=('mergerfs-tools')

(I am aware that as of now there is no such package on AUR, and also there's no tagged release on GitHub. But any of those facts can change at any time in the future. And it's the responsibility of the VCS packages like this -git one to have these fields in their metadata.)

The .SRCINFO has not been properly updated; mismatches PKGBUILD.

Seems you didn't use the following command in the PKGBUILD's directory:

$ makepkg --printsrcinfo > .SRCINFO

Using git+https in source url fixes the build.

depends= and conflicts= required for a VCS package are missing. source=("git+https://... avoids firewall issues for some AUR users.

@wzyboy, mergerfs.mktrash still requires xattr which is provided by python-xattr. See here.

The upstream has updated the code so "All of these suplimental tools are self contained Python3 apps." These scripts now use ctypes to get xattr, so they do not require python-xattr any more.
