This Line in the PKGBUILD works for me: source=("http://activsoftware.co.uk/linux/repos/ubuntu/pool/focal/a/ac/activinspire_2004-3.3.15-1-amd64.deb"
Also activinspire seems to work under wayland. But i have problems with writing with the pen. The pen just draw a line between start and end. It works fine with my mouse, though.

~Because the manufacturer is no longer providing the binary files without authentication, you will need to download them manually and place them into the building directory.
As far as I know, you can only authenticate from an Ubuntu distribution (20.04) according to their instruction on their website (https://support.prometheanworld.com/s/article/1758#terminal). Follow the steps on another (virtual) machine, but then use a command to download and save the .deb-package, for example
sudo apt download activinspire
.Copy the files to your Arch Linux distribution (into the build directory), then build and install the AUR package.~
edit: The binaries only seem to work in an x11 session. Trying to execute them on a wayland compositor leads to weird segmentation faults. If someone can fix the problem or just find an easy workaround, please do tell. Thank you.

Hello, i try (and succeed) to run 2.24 on my arch.
So it seems to work from my 5min test, but does it work well... I see some new hack from promothean :
Maybe, it will help you to come back as our beloved maintainer !!!

This package is currently outdated.
However the new version 2.24.69389 [1] has the following new dependencies:
libweb.so.6 - Not packaged by arch, only .7 is available
libre.so.5 - Not packaged by arch, only .9 is available
It is looking for symbol _ZN3re23RE23Arg12parse_stringEPKcmPv in its own packaged libQt6WebEngineCore.so.6, which does not exist. If you make it use the libQt6WebEngineCore.so.6 form the Arch package qt6-webengine, it is looking for Symbol _ZN9QtPrivate25QMetaTypeInterfaceWrapperI4QUrlE8metaTypeE, which does not exist in the Arch version of the library.
I'm unable to resolve these dependencies, disowning.

Update: As of version 2.23 Promethean has noticed that their Java stuff doesn't work and has dropped the equation editor dependency on Java.
----------------------Outdated----------------------
As I said in this post [ https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/activinspire/#comment-759471 ], I am aware.
However I haven't been able to figure out a solution yet.
If you trace the Inspire binary you can see that it's actually searching /usr/lib/jvm/*, but then it doesn't load the runtime.

The Equation editor causes this error:

Hi ! Big THANKS !!! it works ! sounds, videos operate very well. Only "print" don't work. I have got the same message than tvr. (printing works with wine but no sound, no video) Maybe you will fix it... Thanks again !

icu60 was indeed a missing dependency. Thanks!
Printing doesn't work for me either. I just hadn't noticed it yet because I never print. So far I don't have an idea on how to debug this either, but I'll try. As a workaround you can export to PDF and then print the PDF.
On the upside, playing imported media (audio/video) works better now because the previous version required some 32-bit gstreamer dependencies I wasn't able to find.

Thank you for this package, @Malstrond! Since the update to version 2.19 I have two problems:
First, I'm unable to print from activinspire. Using File -> Print... only opens a window stating "No printers installed on this computer" even though printing worked with 2.18. Any idea what's wrong here or how to debug the problem?
Second, without the optional dependency activtools, inspire doesn't start. It only prints
activtools depends on icu60 which resolves the problem. Should icu60 be a direct dependency of activinspire as well?
