As @rogeriotds and others have noted, driver for this card is available in-kernel as of 6.2

Created https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/8188fu-supremegamers-dkms-git for the other fork. Sounds like this is the only option for 6.0 and 6.1 kernels at the moment

Reminder: I am not the driver developer.

For issues with the driver compilation, installation or anything related to the packaging, please leave a comment here and I will do my best to fix it.

@Kanishk598 if the package is failing to build, please show the error. If the driver is not working, see pinned comment.

The driver is not working in kernel 5.17.1-arch (latest), kindly look into this.

@Kanishk598 it's not about having "less time", it's that I have never been a driver developer, and don't have the time to invest in becoming one. I'm only the package developer. Open an issue with the repository and maybe the author (kelebek333) will be able to help you. Likely they are already working on updating the driver, it's just that the Arch ecosystem moves too quickly and updates the linux kernel faster than the (mostly hobbyist) driver developers can keep up. My suggestion to you is that if you need this driver to work, install a linux kernel whose version is compatible with the driver (which currently lists 5.15.x as the highest supported version).

I saw your pinned comment about having less time for driver development, still it would be awesome if you could help me (noobie) in making my wireless dongle work in kernel 5.15 on EndeavourOS please. I elaborated my query here: https://forum.endeavouros.com/t/wifi-dongle-unable-to-detect-any-wifi-signal-after-system-update/22601

Achmad I think you'll find it works up to 5.11 or possibly 5.12. Unfortunately the upstream hasn't been updated for 5.13 yet. Normally I would suggest reporting an issue in the source Github repository, but Issues are turned off for that repo. If I get a minute and am able to find my dongle, I can look at what needs to be changed and try to make a patch, but I can't promise I"ll have the time and I am by no means a driver developer. If you have any time yourself, you can help by finding similar drivers and checking what was changed for make the driver compatible with 5.13

@codebling, Yes it is working fine with linux-lts 5.10. I hope there is a solution to make it works with 5.13

codebling commented on 2021-08-04 17:44 (UTC)

@AchmadFathoni I am having trouble registering for the forum. I see you're on 5.13. Do you have 5.11 installed and can you try on that? I have only tested this up to 5.11. I can test on 5.12 and .13 but I need to find my wifi dongle first
