As @rogeriotds and others have noted, driver for this card is available in-kernel as of 6.2

Created https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/8188fu-supremegamers-dkms-git for the other fork. Sounds like this is the only option for 6.0 and 6.1 kernels at the moment

Reminder: I am not the driver developer.

For issues with the driver compilation, installation or anything related to the packaging, please leave a comment here and I will do my best to fix it.

For issues relating to the driver's use, please open an issue on the driver repo.

Sorry, I've had a problem with my dev machine and misunderstood - thought it was working on 6.0 also

Denzy7 commented on 2022-10-25 16:11 (UTC)

Nope, will be supported in 6.1 or 6.2 according to jackoneill I'd switch to LTS kernel in the meantim

Does the driver not work with kernel 6.0? https://drive.google.com/file/d/1MuZ1RcB6nQ916Yu3gm6RDTH2YomaZTza/view?usp=sharing

Good news! kelebek333 updated the repo.

Also starting with Linux 6.1 or 6.2 the rtl8xxxu driver will support the RTL8188FU chip. It has station mode only, though.

Hey, y'all, I have a small survey about RTL8188FU: https://gist.github.com/dubhater/7a286c7250eb7d5e045a3e6d0e08c66e Leave a comment on the gist if you feel like it?

I'll probably switch the upstream even if it doesn't work as long as you're accepting patches

Sure, if you got any fixes just make a PR

master build fine! And how to compile for android x86?

On Android-x86 source put them in external/kernel-drivers

Oh cool! I definitely do have the hardware, I just have to identify which one it is (I need to label my wifi dongles by driver name). I can test it out. I'll probably switch the upstream even if it doesn't work as long as you're accepting patches - the kelebek333 fork is broken as of 5.19.2 anyway

Hi, I am one of the mod at SG and is the one who created this fork. Please remember that although it can be compiled for higher kernel like 5.19/6.0 I haven't tried the driver yet because I don't have the hardware. I created the fork to add support for Android-x86/BlissOS, the "android" branch is actually for a Kernel 5.15.x, but this kernel got patches from Google so they backported some code from mainline linux to it. Which is why I am not recommend people to compile this branch and use "master" branch instead.
