@graysky, these: http://pastebin.com/6jr7yPzS >To echo what I posted earlier, if 2.6 --> 3.0 was that simple, I would think that Paolo would have done it already. I wouldn't know about that but it's possible that Paolo simply hasn't got the time yet to even look at it (even if it was that simple a port). For what it's worth I'm using BFQ here (through the -pf patchset) and have had no issues so far.

@Det - Pill in which changes? Also, I'm not comfortable using code that Paolo doesn't release. To echo what I posted earlier, if 2.6 --> 3.0 was that simple, I would think that Paolo would have done it already.

@graysky, can you please finally "pull in" my "changes" :D? E: And about BFQ, it may just be as easy as eduardoeae suggests. Based on this comment in CK's blog Paolo hasn't found the time yet to do the port: http://ck-hack.blogspot.com/2011/08/300-ck1-and-bfs-for-300.html?showComment=1313153893932#c8254692818264991921

@ed - thanks for the enthusiasm but I'll wait for Paolo to post it. I would think that if it were as simple as what you propose, he would have done it already.

http://pastebin.com/2KJMXpLq Here is the 0001-bfq patch for 3.0. I just made it from the 2.6.39 patches. I guess its the same as the linux-pf one. The 0002 and 0003 patches from 2.6.39 works just fine. It shouldn't have any problems because I only made some syntax fixes. But I'm testing it right now so... just be cautious about it.

@karabaja4 - dunno how -pf is including it since Paolo hasn't written it yet!

Det commented on 2011-08-23 15:11 (UTC)

@karabaja4, the latest BFQ patches I know of are here: http://algo.ing.unimo.it/people/paolo/disk_sched/patches/2.6.39/ I don't think BFQ is yet updated for 3.0.

karabaja4 commented on 2011-08-23 10:59 (UTC)

Has BFQ been ported to kernel 3.0? Because I'm unable to see it anywhere, yet linux-pf 3.0 seems to have it included somehow...
