Hello!

The pull request I've mentioned in the previous comment has now been merged, so I updated the first patch. Thanks, GitHub Gist.

Hello! I would like to suggest a couple of patches.

  1. https://gist.github.com/SandaruKasa/ef88d80178dfd40710c1467a68ccdb4d

This basically adds the same dependencies as are listed for crosstool-ng in ABS, as well as a --with-ncurses flag to ./configure and ncurses to makedepends. However, building crosstool-ng with ncurses is currently broken on Arch, so it also merges a pull request that fixes that.

  1. https://gist.github.com/SandaruKasa/c1bda4c688a79872fefe29ad8946c057

A change to pkgver() to get an actual version from the generated configure file so that the package version matches the output of ct-ng version.

The exact way it is implemented in the patch above is actually a breaking change (I think), because it removes the epoch, but the entire epoch thing here doesn't make too much sense anyways, so... Well, maybe bumping it to 2 with this this patch would be a bit wiser. IDK.

@intelfx - sure, you can transfer ownership to me

@graysky Thanks for the heads-up. Done.

Would you maybe like to comaintain or take over this package? In fact I'm not even using crosstool-ng anymore.

graysky commented on 2020-08-12 18:37 (UTC)

@intelfx - Looks like we have gcc-10.2.0-1 in [staging] now. PR#1338 has been superseded it seems by PR#1368 which patches it up to gcc v10.2.0 and binutils v2.35. Please adjust the PKGBUILD to patch 1368 instead of 1338.

Reference: https://github.com/crosstool-ng/crosstool-ng/pull/1368

Builds fine for me making this change. Thanks!

@graysky Fixed, thank you.

@intelfx - 1268 got merged upstream back in Dec so you can probably remove the line pulling it. I do recommend that you add https://github.com/crosstool-ng/crosstool-ng/pull/1338 to the PKGBUILD since it adds support for gcc 10.1.0 which is currently in [core].

@graysky sorry -- both AUR notifications somehow ended up in my junk folder. Package bumped and updated.
