Well, i've to write it this way, 'deb2targz' only doesn't work for me. And it IS an pearl script btw. Possibly it depends on the shell? I'm using zsh.

Edit#1: Ok, sorry. Got you wrong. Yes, the .pl at the bottom could possibly be removed.

is it correct to have the ".pl" at the end of the script (which I guess stands for perl script) ?
On my machine I have then to call deb2targz.pl to execute it .... and there are other packages around which use simply deb2targz ...

Even the Dev from deb2targz is undecided in his work :-P So let's use it as long ar can't unpack in directorys!

if you read http://www.miketaylor.org.uk/tech/deb/ you can clearly see that using this package is a bad idea!
