I'm no longer maintaining this package. Originally this was a stopgap until upstream added SDL2 support, doesn't look like this is ever going to happen.

Thankfully dosbox-staging arrived in 2020, I've personally switched to using that, however it's not quite a drop-in replacement as the config files have changed.

Please also add required makedepends=('git'), and an url= link.

Furthermore, please link the git source in source=() array to a specific commit or tag instead of a branch. This is not a VCS package.

Also, duganchen's dosbox-sdl2 fork unfortunately has not been developed since Jan 2020, and is still based on the upstream Dosbox version 0.74-3 (r4250, 2019-06-26).

There's an active project that uses sdl2 but not sdl2_sound, misleadingly called dosbox-staging (VCS package: dosbox-staging-git).

This should depend on the provisional main package name of sdl2_sound instead of sdl2_sound-hg. The latter provides the former, so this package will still work.

However, sdl2_sound-hg will need to be deleted because the Mercurial repo has been abandoned one year ago. A new sdl2_sound-git package has to be created (the project has migrated to GitHub).

Also, now a new non-VCS sdl2_sound could be uploaded as well, because v2.0.1 stable has finally been released!

I think as well that sdl2_sound-hg should be used instead of sdl_sound-hg. Otherwise dosbox-sdl2 would somehow still depend from an old sdl1 package.

I had to use sdl2_sound-hg to be able to install dosbox-sdl2 because I replaced sdl1 with sdl2_compat12-git/lib32_sdl2_compat12-git.

please fix this build SDL_SOUND_HG doesn't work anymore, however https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/sdl2_sound-hg/ works great with a small patch

Here you find the small patch (dirty) and my PKGBUILD maybe putting this together makes sense -> https://github.com/Glog78/dosbox-sdl2

That also means you don't have any conflics cause SDL2_SOUND_HG doesn't conflict currently with anything and you can just name the executable dosbox-sdl2

The shortcut should have:

Exec=dosbox %f

MimeType=application/x-ms-dos-executable
