@Bkasthapa I have come across this error, try running makepkg again. If it doesn't work, I'll check later.

@edombek ERROR: A failure occurred in build()

haha662 commented on 2023-01-23 21:55 (UTC)

I tried to update the package to 8.4.1, but there seems to be some issue with tcl and tk version and I have immediately reverted the change. I didn't bump the epoch as I feel it's unlikely that someone is building the package in that ~30min window. Hope that doesn't cause too much trouble. Sorry...

There is ds9-bin. As that one doesn't "provide" ds9

I maintain ds9-bin, and it does have provides and conflicts for ds9.

@FabioLolix Thanks.

.SRCINFO is incomplete as conflicts=(ds9-bin) is missing

Had extra conflicts=() in PKGBUILD for some reason. Now fixed.

provides=(ds9) and conflicts=(ds9-bin) are not needed, are variations of ds9 that need to provide and conflicts ds9

There is ds9-bin. As that one doesn't "provide" ds9, the one I had no purpose (normally ds9-bin should add it instead me removing. but oh, well)

lto is a default option, there is a need to add it to options=()?

There is comment somewhere below. I put it for a temporary fix. But, seems not needed anymore.

@thpsbkas it is building fine in chroot, you are not providing the actual error

@ydallilar

  • .SRCINFO is incomplete as conflicts=(ds9-bin) is missing
  • provides=(ds9) and conflicts=(ds9-bin) are not needed, are variations of ds9 that need to provide and conflicts ds9
  • lto is a default option, there is a need to add it to options=()?

@thpsbkas I can't reproduce any error and what you provide is not really helpful. I need to see the compile logs.

@haha662 "Fixed" for now, need to have a look at it after.
