linux-headers shouldn't actually be listed as a dependency. dkms already does the legwork. I amended this in the evdi package recently: https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/evdi?O=10#comment-916603

Broken on linux-zen because of headers. Easily fixed by sed -i -e 's/linux-headers/linux-zen-headers/g' PKGBUILD. Should probably be fixed @severach?

I have the same issue as stefanmich and spapanik21. Dell D6000 docking station. Downgrading to 1.13.1 resolved it as well.

One thing to keep in mind, DisplayLink only targets the latest kernel available in LTS (Long Term Support) releases of Ubuntu, which in my experience leaves evdi woefully behind since it's not part of the mainline kernel tree. Because of this I have purchased a Thunderbolt 4 dock, which does have drivers by Intel in the mainline kernel tree. My DisplayLink dock has been retired because of this.

I'm no longer watching this AUR package, since I no longer need it.

upgrading from (1.13.1.r0.g85a347a-1 => 1.14.1.r0.g83bb793-1) broke my StarTech USB32HD4K usb graphics card. Downgrading back to 1.13.1 fixed it.

During every system update, I'm getting this error, ldconfig: /usr/lib/libevdi.so.1 is not a symbolic link, because the it isn't a symlink to /usr/lib/libevdi.so.1.14.1

AFAIK packages should not have depends on linux-headers. Depends on dkms should be sufficient, as DKMS itself has the appropriate dependencies already listed.

Now whenever I update evdi-git, it always needs to have linux-headers installed, even though I don't use that kernel; I just have zen. The same applies for LTS etc.

The same is also the case for the non-git package.

@varungarg, also from me thank you! Ran in to various issues when trying to apply the different solutions listed here. With evdi-compat-git the monitor kicked into life again after sitting (standing?) there without use for a while.
