@WorMzy, the commentary list doesn't seem to make it clear that version 1.3 is now working aok. I am sure you are aware of this but again, the commentary doesn't confirm that it now seems to be working as required.
Cheers.

Take two. Seems strip was causing problems.

Hm, pushed an update, then realised that the expressvpn binaries do not run:
expressvpn: relocation error: expressvpn: symbol , version GLIBC_2.2.5 not defined in file libc.so.6 with link time reference
Reverted the update for the moment. Anyone who got it in the 60 seconds it was available, I recommend you do the same.

@WorMzy
Please visit https://www.expressvpn.com/support/vpn-setup/app-for-linux/#download
If you scroll down that instructional page you will see v1.03 listed. I am using it on two other distros (not my daily driver). So it would be good to get the update. It seems they've mentioned a couple of bug fixes and security updates with the latest version. Thanks.

Odd, they haven't announced it on their blog, and the application isn't reporting the new version. Where did you hear about the new version? Is there a changelog?
Aurelias commented on 2017-11-16 06:10 (UTC)
Expressvpn have released version 1.3.0 and so are there any plans to update this version?

Have you added the key to your build user's keyring?
https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Makepkg#Signature_checking
Check with e.g.
$ gpg --list-keys expressvpn.com
pub rsa4096 2016-01-22 [SC]
1D0B09AD6C93FEE93FDDBD9DAFF2A1415F6A3A38
uid [ unknown] ExpressVPN Release <release@expressvpn.com>
sub rsa4096 2016-01-22 [E]

Tried to install this today and I got a failure:
==> ERROR: One or more PGP signatures could not be verified!
==> ERROR: Makepkg was unable to build expressvpn.
Got the right PGP signature:
gpg: data source: https://193.164.133.100:443
(1) ExpressVPN Release <release@expressvpn.com>
4096 bit RSA key AFF2A1415F6A3A38, created: 2016-01-22
But the package still won't pass through PGP check.
Please help..
And many thanks for maintaining this package!

Hi!
Sure, I won't do that again - could you maybe pin that comment?
FWIW, I marked it out of date because I have a similar issue with Google Chrome, and there is a pinned comment there (and a lot of sarcastic unpinned comments) that instructed us to *only* mark it out of date for checksum problems. See https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/google-chrome/
Thanks again for your volunteer work!

Please note that, as of version 4.0, ExpressVPN have switched to a new "universal installer" which replaces their previous distro-specific packages (.deb/.rpm/.pkg) and bypasses package managers entirely (mostly dumping stuff to /opt). I have rewritten the PKGBUILD to repackage what this new installer does so it can still be tracked by pacman, but there's no telling how well this will work going forward (particularly since this new version supposedly has a self-updater built in.)
The new ExpressVPN version is still in beta, so I've not pushed an update to this package yet, if you're interested in testing it out, it's available at https://codeberg.org/WorMzy/aur-packages/src/branch/main/expressvpn
Note: you may need to flush your iptables rules after upgrading in order to restore internet access, use
iptables -F
to do so.paintie commented on 2020-07-28 21:16 (UTC)

gpg --import expressvpn_release_public_key_0xAFF2A1415F6A3A38.asc
All installed fine; thank you very much for maintaining.
