A recent libffi update broke this for me until I installed libffi7. Might need to be a new dep?

For those of you who want to avoid Python2 and GTK2, I made this package here: https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/fahcontrol-gtk3-git/

It's a work-in-progress, and there's an ongoing effort to merge this to upstream (https://github.com/FoldingAtHome/fah-control/pull/70), but I don't know how long this will take. I made this package, tested it and it seems to work fine.

@katt

Can't tell you why or how but it is working right now.

Reinstalled both Fahcontrol and foldingathome while deleting everything file I had.

Thank you !

@tozedascoves Then I really don't know, I use this package myself every day haven't encountered that issue. I can only blame upstream, sorry.

tozedascoves commented on 2020-04-29 16:34 (UTC)

@katt I do. Reinstalled it but I'm still having the same errors.

katt commented on 2020-04-29 16:30 (UTC)

@tozedascoves Do you have gtk2 installed? I thought it would be covered by pygtk so I deleted it from depends. I'll add it back if that fixes it.

/usr/lib/python2.7/site-packages/fah/FAHControl.py:758: Warning: g_object_unref: assertion 'G_IS_OBJECT (object)' failed gtk.rc_reparse_all_for_settings(settings, True)

After a few seconds I get

ERROR on connection to 127.0.0.1:7396: Lost connection Connection lost

But everything is running. I can check that by going to 127.0.0.1:7396 and it is folding.

I see foldingathome package got an update that changed things. Should I change something to make fahcontrol work?

@RTheren This is still not handeled by fahcontrol, go to the foldingathome package for this (Where there is already a warning in place)

The old config was saved under /opt/fah/config.xml After update, it was moved to /etc/foldingathome/config.xml

You might need to copy/move the config from old path to new one.

@katt- You're probably right
