I will not update (for now) to the latest version 7.3.6.9326 because it crashes continuously for me.

stronnag commented on 2022-06-18 17:03 (UTC)

Thanks, unfortunate timing then.

For reference, with Gnome shell / wayland I need to

unset QT_QPA_PLATFORMTHEME
unset QT_QPA_PLATFORM

to avoid

Google Earth has caught signal 6.

Did you have a look at /var/cache/pacman/pkg/? E: Aight. It's downgraded. But I didn't raise the epoch, so if you'd like to redownload the previous one after clearing your cache (inadvisable), you'll need to reinstall manually.

stevwills commented on 2017-07-12 05:46 (UTC)

dear maintainer, could you package the older version back into the aur, the latest version does not work and i kinda need the application for work :(... so yeah to older version worked fine, just package it to the aur with another name for temporary purpose until the latest version of google-earth-pro works

No, bad md5sum. :) It's the same link, so the md5sum will fail whenever there's a new one. You can replace those with 'SKIP' in the PKGBUILD, or build with --skipinteg/---skipchecksums: https://aur.archlinux.org/cgit/aur.git/commit/PKGBUILD?h=google-earth-pro&id=23b3ad23a9f2319e9de5f7c0d4ffad4ba6775311

Well, it can't be bad, if it works, right? Some minor update: 7.3.0.3825 → 7.3.0.3827.

Uhhh. You know, you could just rename it to "google-earth-pro-stable_7.1.8.3036_amd64.deb" and put it in the same dir with the PKGBUILD. E: Also, the links aren't dead, it's just the mirrors of wherever you're from.

Huan commented on 2017-06-10 08:21 (UTC)

The 64-bit link is dead, so what I did is: 1. Download Det's .deb file (https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BzcScrfiG5awSEYwRWlSWjk1OTQ/view?usp=sharing) 2. Put it in a folder, start an HTTP server using Python with the folder contains the file (python2 -m SimpleHTTPServer) 3. Edit PKGBUILD, line 30: Replace "https://dl.google.com/earth/client/current/" with "localhost:8000/" 4. Save and continue the installation. P/S: You can specify the port you want to use with that Python HTTP server
