I will not update (for now) to the latest version 7.3.6.9326 because it crashes continuously for me.

Thanks, unfortunate timing then.

For reference, with Gnome shell / wayland I need to

unset QT_QPA_PLATFORMTHEME
unset QT_QPA_PLATFORM

to avoid

Google Earth has caught signal 6.

It was a message for Nano :p But since it's solve the problem (I did the same), maybe it should be fixed for all. It happens when the system isn't in english I guess. https://askubuntu.com/a/338805 https://productforums.google.com/forum/#!category-topic/earth/ajdpMQGXrzw

Why?

abouvier commented on 2017-11-26 00:53 (UTC)

Edit `/opt/google/earth/pro/googleearth` and replace the last line by: LC_NUMERIC=en_US.UTF-8 LD_LIBRARY_PATH=.:$LD_LIBRARY_PATH ./googleearth-bin "$@"

It works well for me but I found a bug: When I search for an address, the program displays the results in a box in to the left window. When I click on some of these result, instead of taking me there, the program make a "zoom-out" showing me the entire world. Obviously the program will should make a "zoom-in" over the indicated adress. This bug is only with adress, if the search result is a point of interest, the zoom works Ok. Can help me? Thanks.
