Global hotkeys (shortcuts) are now supported on wayland, but only on kde plasma as only kde plasma supports this properly at the moment.

@flxbr It happens on amd/intel (or nvidia + wayland) because the videos are in variable framerate format. The fps isn't really 59,96 fps, every frame has different framerate but the overall framerate is close to the given fps. It's behaves pretty much the same as a fps limit in games. There is no option in the gui to change this because it causes issues on some systems (this is something I need to find a fix for). Nvidia shadowplay/xbox gamebar also captures videos in the same variable framerate format. You can use the '-fm cfr' option if you use gpu-screen-recorder command line until it's fixed.

But anyways, it shouldn't cause problems, unless you use outdated software. Video players will pretty much play it at 60 fps, because of how it works.

I noticed when recording at 60fps, sometimes the video recorded is 60fps and sometimes is 59,97fps. Is there a way to record at a fixed 60fps?

@DEC05EBA Do you do feature requests here or no? I just wanted to suggest possibly making it so you can't open more than one instance at at time (or at least displaying a warning prompt) since opening a second instance breaks it. For context I like to set an application shortcut to alt + z on my keyboard because I came from windows and used shadowplay and that was the keybind to open the overlay.

@flxbr I dont know. GPU priority is bad in general on amd/intel (mesa) and I cant test it because I believe it works different with integrated graphics (which I only have).

Just an update: looks like that FPS fluctuation is happening when the game is fully utilizing the GPU. If I cap the FPS, the fluctuation stops. Is there a way to give your software the priority over the game on GPU usage? Maybe that will fix it.

Got it. Let me know if you need me to do tests for you on my hardware.

That fps fluctuation may be fixable, but I dont own a desktop amd gpu (I only have steam deck which can only record at 1280x800) and I dont own uncharted on pc.

Thanks! I'm on AMD btw (6800XT - 5600X).

I'm loving your software. The only down side I notice it's introducing a periodic FPS fluctuation in some games (like Uncharted), despite Freesync ON or OFF.

And I would like to suggest an option to mininize the app to system tray instead of task bar.

@flxrbr In the gui version it's the option that says "All monitors (for VRR, ...". Note that this option and screen-direct-force is only available on nvidia. On amd/intel I believe that VRR works if you just record a monitor/screen without having to do anything extra. But that is just my guess, I dont have a VRR monitor so I cant test it.

"If you are using a variable refresh rate monitor then choose to record "screen-direct-force". This will allow variable refresh rate to work when recording fullscreen applications. Note that some applications such as mpv will not work in fullscreen mode. A fix is being developed for this."

Which would be this "screen-direct-force" option on the GUI version?
