sulaweyo: I don't have a definitive answer. This is simply how it was designed to function upstream. linguas.sh is part of the build system pulled in from the grub git repository. Generally to avoid breakage we follow the manual and use the tools we are given. It might be possible to fetch them via another method; however, I haven't explored it as fiddling with a working build system and breaking it for everyone attempting to fix an edge case is more Debian territory than Arch territory. This is essentially a mirror of the PKGBUILD used in [Core] with a pkgver function.

Just out of curiosity ... is there really no other way to get the language files than rsync? Not really a protocol that goes through company firewalls easily.

The master branch appears to include patches addressing issues affecting my deployments that have not been included in the latest RC shipping in [Core] so I've adopted and rebased this on the resources there to ensure consistency in deployment.

Due to work and other life commitments, I am unable to devote time to maintain this package. Orphaned.

I just tried to build Grub-git on a fresh install of Arch (2015-09), using makepkg -sri. It stops after quite a long while of error-free compiling at: ^\Makefile:30885: recipe for target 'gfxmenu/gfxmenu_module_-gfxmenu.o' failed /bin/sh: line 12: 15575 Quit (core dumped) (CDPATH= "${ZSH_VERSION+.}:" && cd $subdir && make $local_target ) make[3]: *** [gfxmenu/gfxmenu_module-gfxmenu.o] Quit (core dumped) My C programming and even building skills are limited. Any pointers?

I am getting a error telling me "One or more PGP signatures could not be verified!". I could only continue after removing the signature file unifont-6.3.20131217.bdf.gz.sig and its check sum.
