2012/10/18 java3d 1.5.2-6 move install path back to $JAVA_HOME_/jre for jre-7u9(thanks, giniu,fandrieu,6arms1leg).

2012/10/09 java3d 1.5.2-5 fixed install path for openjdk 7.u7_2.3.2-2 (thanks, Smoerrebroed).

i use "gpsprune" from aur and it has "java3d" as makedepends. i cant build "gpsprune" with this PKGBUILD and i found the same problem for this package:

https://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=18565

which is also maintained by you. the fix mentioned there in the comments also worked for me (building "gpsprune"), see:

https://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=51784

im no expert in java, but maybe the install path in this PKGBUILD should be changed to "$JAVA_HOME/jre" (plus the line after)?
thanks for your time.

Ok, fixed it. I modified two lines in the PKGBUILD:

install -d -m755 $pkgdir/$JAVA_HOME
cd $pkgdir$JAVA_HOME

At least for my system this works now. :)

I found the problem too, but I'm not familiar with java.
Is there any other people could help to solve this problem?

Smoerrebroed commented on 2012-10-07 17:46

Seems like it is no longer compatible with the most recent openjdk and information is rather hard to come by. I downloaded this, installed it but every sample I try to run tells me java3d is not active. What now?

dreieck commented on 2012-02-28 15:37

The PKGBUILD has a bug: It assumes the environment variable JAVA_HOME to be set (to install to $JAVA_HOME/jre). If it is not set, it simply installs into /jre (yes, in the root file system).

Please, fix this. Maybe make a version of the package for openjdk7, one for openjdk6, one for sun jre7 and so on.

Sorry for the delay. I've moved it out of /opt/opt.

here is the pkgbuild http://pastebin.com/uDiVZQj4 with the @luca 's lines

@luca: I agree.
Currently, the package installs on /opt/opt/java/...
