For all people flagging the package out of date: This is a -git package that pulls down the latest sources from the git repository, so unless the build process is broken, don't flag this package out of date! Just rebuild it.

This -git package has not been pulling the latest sources for the git repo.

As of writing this, it is pulling an outdated release of 10.8.0.alpha5.r1656.g2ce08eb184.

I am not an AUR maintainer and I do not know if the pkgver variable must be a specific version, or how it gets rendered when stated in the PKGBUILD file, however making this change allowed me to install the latest release of jellyfin 10.8.11 (which currently has the latest label applied to it).

After updating aspnet-runtime to version 7, jellyfin-server-git won't start. I had to install aspnet-runtime-6.0 to get it working again.

For whatever reason, downgrading to: paru -U jellyfin-web-git-10.8.0.alpha5.r658.gbe3d57ad41-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.zst jellyfin-server-git-10.8.0.alpha5.r658.gbe3d57ad41-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.zst jellyfin-git-10.8.0.alpha5.r658.gbe3d57ad41-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.zst

Corrected the playback being 100% borked. I also have jellyfin-ffmpeg5 installed.

If someone can't get to make the server read the movies or series. The solution is to "disable real time monitoring" in the library settings. It's a bug that if u keep it enabled it doesn't get speed

Does jellyfin-git 10.6.0.r3918.g360d80c873-1 still install 10.6? Or is it 10.8?

If the latter, perhaps the version number should be bumped or removed from the package name.

When trying to install jellyfin-git it points to version 1.8.0 alpha5 and not the latest available 1.8.0-beta1 which has many new features. I wrote about this on jellyfin's github, but they say they don't maintain this aur package and I have to ask the maintainer. I have tried to modify the PKGBUILD without success, it always loads the PKGVER Alpha.

Is this out of date? I can't get jellyfin to work. It builds and installs but I can't get passed the login page.

Do note that we switched from Yarn to NPM recently, so this package currently fails to build.

The package currently doesn't build due to Microsoft messing up with their SSL certificates. Read the last couple of comments in https://aur.archlinux.org/pkgbase/jellyfin for more info.

edit: fixed now!
