Did you install kicad-library which contains the actual 3D models?

<deleted-account> commented on 2017-05-21 03:11 (UTC)

Hi, I am using the latest Kicad-git and oce, however in 3D view, all the modules can not be rendered. I have set up KISYS3DMOD to /usr/share/kicad/modules/packages3d and enable all 3d rendering options.

Chocobo commented on 2017-05-08 20:09 (UTC)

@nickoe - Could you please fix this package? See the comment made by @sehnem on 2017-04-19. If you are not interested in maintaining this package I am happy to resume ownership.

sehnem commented on 2017-04-19 13:38 (UTC) (edited on 2017-05-12 17:51 (UTC) by sehnem)

@nickoe, I think that @AfoHT was mentioning the OCE_DIR parameter, the version in aur is now 0.18, so it should be: -DOCE_DIR=/opt/oce/lib/oce-0.18

nickoe commented on 2017-04-19 13:19 (UTC)

@AfoHT, what are you talking about? There is not reason to edit to enable OCE, it is already enabled in the PKGBUILD.

AfoHT commented on 2017-04-19 13:06 (UTC)

The latest version of OCE is currently at 0.18, just edit in PKGBUILD and it builds just fine.

Chocobo commented on 2017-04-17 23:14 (UTC)

Hi all, I am really sorry - but I no longer have time to maintain this package. I am going to mark it as orphaned.

sehnem commented on 2017-04-17 16:55 (UTC) (edited on 2017-04-18 17:28 (UTC) by sehnem)

I had a problem with this package, when updating the kernel I could not boot the system because some libraries were installed to /usr/lib64 that should be a symlink in archlinux. If it has not been fixed please fix it, it took me some time to release that was kicad-git the problem.

sagir33 commented on 2017-04-13 16:25 (UTC)

@diggit, thanks! That works perfectly!

xorly commented on 2017-04-13 09:14 (UTC)

added -DCMAKE_INSTALL_LIBDIR=/usr/lib \ and problem is gone. Maybe relative path to prefix would be sufficient too.

nickoe commented on 2017-04-11 21:42 (UTC)

Any chance you did install outside the package, I mean with sudo make install with the real source?

nickoe commented on 2017-04-11 19:02 (UTC)

Isn't that just a warning? It installd to lib64 since a few days ago where it used to install to lib, which is symlinked to lib64 IIRC. Otherwise you can probably just remove the previous package and install the new.

sagir33 commented on 2017-04-11 18:59 (UTC)

Getting the following error when trying to install the latest version: kicad-git: /usr/lib64 exists in filesystem Last version I had was : 18M Mar 26 13:38 kicad-git-r7857.23a23d3c6-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.xz ^^ which installed correctly. Anyone got a fix?

HaaTa commented on 2017-02-11 22:56 (UTC)

Please add OCE (for 3d footprint support of stp files) and Spice (I've tested this working). -DKICAD_USE_OCE=ON \ -DOCE_DIR=/opt/oce/lib/oce-0.17 \ -DKICAD_SPICE=ON \ Adds ngspice and oce as dependencies. See: https://github.com/KiCad/kicad-source-mirror/blob/master/Documentation/development/compiling.md#stepiges-support-for-the-3d-viewer--oce_opt https://github.com/KiCad/kicad-source-mirror/blob/master/Documentation/development/compiling.md#integrated-spice-simulator--spice_opt Thanks.

ElektroQuark commented on 2017-01-28 06:21 (UTC)

Hi CHocobo, COuld you add the translations to the package? (https://github.com/KiCad/kicad-i18n). Thank you.

totalkrill commented on 2017-01-04 11:30 (UTC)

Please activate the kicad-scripting and add swig as dependecy :)

braun commented on 2016-12-29 10:07 (UTC)

swig is missing in dependencies, it is required to build with scripting on.

davidb commented on 2016-12-02 18:27 (UTC)

Please add kicad scripting options to PKGBUILD. -DKICAD_SCRIPTING=ON \ -DKICAD_SCRIPTING_MODULES=ON \ -DKICAD_SCRIPTING_WXPYTHON=ON

keenerd commented on 2016-10-09 22:09 (UTC)

This package will probably be merged into kicad-git soon.

Grazz256 commented on 2016-09-16 23:00 (UTC)

Boost updated the other night, rebuild and it should work (did for me).

nickoe commented on 2016-09-07 12:06 (UTC)

You might want to update the upstream URL to http://kicad-pcb.org/

Chocobo commented on 2016-09-01 17:18 (UTC)

Sorry about the delay, I was unavailable to update the package. It should be all set now.

jmx commented on 2016-08-29 15:26 (UTC)

Would the maintainers mind changing the upstream URL to the - now official - Launchpad git repo? I `time`'d cloning: git clone git://git.launchpad.net/kicad and git clone git://github.com/KiCad/kicad-source-mirror.git and they both took _exactly the same time_ to download. So, in my opinion: 1. the "faster download" argument for Github is moot by now. 2. KiCad Development switched to use git on Launchpad officially, so `kicad-git` should really become the official AUR resource for the official development version of KiCad.

orson commented on 2016-08-22 08:20 (UTC)

KiCad has finally switched to git repository [1], so it is no longer necessary to use the Github mirror. It is likely the mirror will not receive more updates, as it was linked to the bazaar repository, which is not active anymore. 1. https://lists.launchpad.net/kicad-developers/msg25830.html

orson commented on 2016-08-22 08:18 (UTC)

Just to let you know, KiCad has just switched to git [1] and the bazaar repository will not be updated anymore. 1. https://lists.launchpad.net/kicad-developers/msg25830.html

CMake option '-DKICAD_SKIP_BOOST=ON' is no longer relevant and can be safely removed.

KiCad 4.0.0 has been released

nickoe commented on 2015-11-28 08:35 (UTC)

Not really, the bzr is the official repo upstream.

melroy89 commented on 2015-11-28 02:32 (UTC) (edited on 2015-12-01 19:25 (UTC) by melroy89)

I think we should use the 'kicad-git' package from the AUR repo now... EDIT: DO INSTALL kicad-bzr, but install the kicad-library-git and kicad-pretty-git. Only kicad itself is still bzr based, the rest it git based.

niqingliang2003 commented on 2015-08-28 07:59 (UTC)

how to change the source from bzr to github? the bzr is too slow to download.

nickoe commented on 2015-06-25 11:49 (UTC)

The -j1 is probably a left over from when there were problems building with many jobs as some point, but that has been fixed upstream and seems to work stable now. It is good that it is commented out, PKGBUILDS should avoid to force -j options, because they will override the users setting. Moving the scripting options in side the cmake lines will usually break the build... Maybe it works in this case since the path is in the beginning, I am not quite sure about this. But it needs testing.

cgx commented on 2015-06-25 09:05 (UTC)

I think the -j1 comment in the pkgbuild is not needed at all, since it should use the default from /etc/makepkg.conf anyway MAKEFLAGS="-j2" At least "make #-j1 ## Uncomment -j1 to build single threaded (to debug build issues)" could be more correct

leosw commented on 2015-06-25 08:56 (UTC)

Please replace the build option to something easily editable : build() { cd "$srcdir/$_bzrmod" mkdir -p build/Release cd build/Release # -DKICAD_SKIP_BOOST=ON ? cmake ../.. -DCMAKE_BUILD_TYPE=Release \ -DCMAKE_INSTALL_PREFIX=/usr \ -DKICAD_SKIP_BOOST=ON \ ## Uncomment to enable Python Scripting : # -DKICAD_SCRIPTING=ON -DKICAD_SCRIPTING_MODULES=ON \ # -DKICAD_SCRIPTING_WXPYTHON=ON \ -DBUILD_GITHUB_PLUGIN=ON make #-j1 ## Uncomment to use many threads during build process (must be lower than your threads number) }

<deleted-account> commented on 2015-04-06 20:39 (UTC)

That worked, thanks a lot ! BZR trick ? :)

nickoe commented on 2015-04-01 22:31 (UTC)

How are you rebuilding? Try to clean your src dir and try again.

<deleted-account> commented on 2015-04-01 21:03 (UTC)

Hello, I was looking for the recently introduced features (differential routing) and it seems that the package being built is rev5322 (2014-12-14 21:42:28 UTC). The package created has the right name and package info (ie rev5562) but once installed the actual software version says "BZR5322" and, needless to say, the new features are not available :) All of the builds done since rev5322 (I had built it at rev5351 and 5464) behave in the same way. Is it a problem with my setup or can someone reproduce it ?

orson commented on 2015-03-12 20:05 (UTC)

@lz3060 It is not the first and not the last bug in KiCad. You have reported the bug in the right place, but please save the comments here for reporting problems related to the AUR package, not the software itself. Peace, Orson

Timfonic, please try to read the errors and state why you think this is an error with this package. The first indicates you don't know what the fp-lib-table is. The second indicates you dont realize you are editing or trying to install this package where files already exist.
