Also depends=(kicad) should be added.

This original version of SparkFun-KiCad was abandoned in 2017 and requires KiCad v5.

There is an unofficial fork which updates it for KiCad v6 format:

@greyltc I suggest that you add 'sparkfun-kicad-lib-git' to the conflicts= and replaces= arrays in PKGBUILD. That might help inform users of the old package if/when they migrate to this one, and also ensures that the package manager will uninstall the old package upon user confirmation when installing this.

I have requested the earlier AUR/sparkfun-kicad-lib-git package to be 'merged' to this package, as that package was an abandoned duplicate of this one.

The 'merge' has been accepted by TU, so that package is deleted now.

Comments and votes form that package page has been added to this one's.

Users of the earlier package need to uninstall that and install this one.

Is this a duplicate of kicad-library-sparkfun-git?

Sparkfun now has an official repository, would you please switch to this one?

And how do we solve the riddle of importing this to kicad5?

This git has not been updated for 6 years. Here there is a more up-to-date git rep with the sparkfun libraries from feb 2016 I'd suggest to switch to this newer rep. https://github.com/benwis/SparkFun-Kicad-Libraries

In this PKGBUILD, it tries to install files while makepkg running. To prevent this, I think it must use ${pkgdir} instead of ${installdir}.
