Added TomZander as a co-maintainer for this package. I have been so busy with things off of the internet, sorry everyone.

lbry-desktop-bin on AUR is the newest version at time of writing. Uninstall this package before installing lbry-desktop-bin.

-I installed like this- remove previous install: yay -R lbry-app-bin

if you have these remove them: yay -R lbry-sync-ytdl lbt

Download new .deb: wget https://github.com/lbryio/lbry-desktop/releases/download/v0.51.1/LBRY_0.51.1.deb Install 'debtap' if you dont have it and then: debtap LBRY_0.51.1.deb Install with pacman: sudo pacman -U ./lbry-0.51.1-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.zst

*if you have any leftover files you will need to remove them before installing.

No longer on Arch so I'm disowning, h/t to kcseb for maintaining this package :)

Hello, kiyui, thanks for maintaining it. Please can you modify the PKGBUILD like it: https://paste.rs/Jwq

Changes:

  • Remove hardcoded version from sources, that way you only need to modify pkgver once a new version is released.
  • Do not create unneeded dirs wirh install. Since that tar already creates the needed directories there isn't need to recreate them.
  • Move from sha256sums to sha512sums.

Regards, Ed

Would there be a way to make this work with the system installed electron instead of its own built in version? Would at least be useful for people running on wayland with electron-ozone.

I got the following error when starting Lbry from terminal. Any ideals what could be the problem.

Starting SDK Sandbox listening on port 5278. Daemon: [3117] Failed to execute script cli

Daemon: Traceback (most recent call last): File "pathlib.py", line 1273, in mkdir FileNotFoundError: [Errno 2] No such file or directory: '/run/media/chaiwat/LBRY and Storage/LBRY'

During handling of the above exception, another exception occurred:

For easier version bumps, please replace the source var with:

source=("https://github.com/lbryio/lbry-desktop/releases/download/v${pkgver}/LBRY_${pkgver}.deb")

Now that you provide a symlink to the "lbrynet" executable, could you add provides=('lbrynet')? I have a standalone package for it named 'lbrynet-bin'.
