Users receiving a failure at the connector_http test should investigate their network settings. You are reviving this error because a nameserver query that should return not found is coming back with a result. There was an issue report here: https://github.com/cinemast/libjson-rpc-cpp/issues/152 If at all possible you should correct your network so that the issue is resolved instead of just disabling the network. According to the VCS package guidelines in the Arch Linus wiki (https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/VCS_package_guidelines) dates are to be used when no other satisfactory data exists from which to extract a pkgver. As it is entirely possible to extract a RELEASE.rREVISION formated version it should be done this way. It is also common practice to place the licence in a folder with the same name as the package. Placing it in a different folder will cause utilities like namcap to throw an error. An example with the appropriate pkgver statement from the wiki can be found here: https://github.com/WoefulDerelict/PKGBUILDs/blob/master/libjson-rpc-cpp-git/PKGBUILD

I'm still having issues building, same error as the others. The following tests FAILED: 4 - connector_http (Failed) 8 - all (Failed) I'm trying to build ethereum and this is a dependency.

Should be fixed now.

the patch is still listed under "source" and thus this package fails to build. please fix

I just tried to install this and ran into multiple problems, starting with the patch thing. Finally I am stumped here: The following tests FAILED: 4 - connector_http (Failed) 8 - all (Failed) Errors while running CTest Makefile:61: recipe for target 'test' failed make: *** [test] Error 8 ==> ERROR: A failure occurred in check(). Aborting... I am surprised this does not work since it seems to be a dependency for ethereum https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/ethereum/ which has recently become quite newsworthy.

Thank you for the hint void09!

Please remove the gcc patch part from prepare(), the package now fails to build with it.
