Saw a discussion on G+... This package is for binary only package. Really! If you have xfce4-session or anything else link against libpng15 anything is wrong. Probably another package from AUR is linked against libpng15. Rebuild that package, do NOT install libpng15.

For binary packages that link against libpng15... Probably we all hope to get rid of this soon. :D

why do you need both... there were reasons for libpng12... it was because it was in the linux standard base...

jgottula, discovered this myself, has been fixed already. ;) Thanks a lot!

Okay, so upon further inspection, it appears pnglibconf.h didn't exist prior to libpng 1.5, so it was overlooked in the PKGBUILD. Changing the last line of package() to this will fix that: rm -rf "${pkgdir}/usr/include/"{png{,lib}conf.h,png.h}

Attempting to install alongside libpng 1.6 gives this: libpng15: /usr/include/pnglibconf.h exists in filesystem Perhaps the header files should be moved to /usr/include/libpng15, as appears to be the case for libpng12 and libpng14? libpng12 /usr/include/libpng12/pngconf.h libpng14 /usr/include/libpng14/pngconf.h
