Before marking this as outdated please keep in mind that this here only gets official tags as available on https://github.com/Logitech/slimserver/releases which have been confirmed working on arch by users of logitechmediaserver-git.

Using the latest git above (updated 2021-01-26) on my Cubox (armv7hf), I get the following error in the server log:

Compilation failed in require at /opt/logitechmediaserver/Slim/Display/Lib/Fonts.pm line 83

This is when I loaded a song with Chinese characters in the song name with the Transporter.

Can someone shed some lights on what might be wrong?

@stef.an, oh indeed, sorry about that. Thanks for your work!

@ElVirolo, the user and group are created by the install-script, invoked by the "install=install" line.

The GIT-Version has been reported as stable, here we go! Anyways this package is a big change so please make a backup and good luck :)

If I am not mistaken, the logitechms user and group are not created by the PKGBUILD.

LMS stable appears to be at version 8.0.0 now. I can see that there's a branch in stef.an's Git repository but I can't work out the status of it. How far is this from a working stable 8.0.0 pakcage?

As Renophaston already said this package has to be rebuilt and reinstalled after upgrading perl. As arch ist always faster on upgrading perl than the creators of lms there might be some incompatibilities but most of the time it just works after rebuilding.

Thank you @Renophaston! A clean rebuild of the package did the trick! Now everything works as before.
