Hi there.
The first time I started the daemon I got a message telling me my locale was detected as "C" and to change it to something appropriate. Does anyone know how it's detecting this, because it's certainly got it wrong. I couldn't find anything relevant at slimdevices.com.
Thanks.

For squeezeplay 7.5 there are precompiled binaries here: http://www.tux.org/~peterw/slim/squeezeplay/
They work quiet well on arch with the current server.

FWIW - I tried squeezeplay myself, with not very good results. Downloaded binaries didn't seem to work at all - garbled screens, etc. I built the v7.5 and v7.6 clients and got further, but I had network problems with both... the linux support seems rickety at the moment.
What does work is an older java-based client called softsqueeze (go to softsqueeze.sourceforge.net and pick version 3.8). You need the JRE, and you're in business. Hope this helps.

cszhy, you can try squeezeplay - it works fine on Windows, there is a linux tarball at http://downloads.slimdevices.com/nightly/7.6/sp/9278/squeezeplay-7.6.0-9278.tgz.

Hi Guys:
I'm a fresh here, is there any squeeze client which can work with this squeeze server to play the radio on arch?
thanks

Since it seems perl-5.12 support didn't make it to squeezeboxserver-7.5.2, rather than using a 7.5.2-nightly let's switch to a 7.5.3-nightly!
As before, I host this nightly build on my server since it changes every day on slimdevices's website.
I have been running this new version for a day: no issues. Just be aware that your squeezebox might walk you through a firmware upgrade.

I cannot make the official version 7.5.2 work with perl-5.12, so I think we will stick to the same nightly tarball for a while...

I will try to update but there is no CPAN/arch/5.12 directory anymore, so I am afraid it is incompatible with perl-5.12.
