Everything seems to work by just changing the version in the PKGBUILD.

Hi All,
As ptwl suggested I did build the package wth 7.6.1-33022.
This install correct only at start complains still about the locale.
Further is the strange thing is that I can't reach the website on <IP>:9000.
And I can't understand why...
Does anyone experience this problem ? and how to solve?

Thanks for the suggestion, theking2. For now, I am quite reluctant to disassemble squeezebox-server bit by bit and rely on system packages instead: although that would be a bit cleaner, it would make maintaining this package a nightmare; so I will leave the package as is for the time being unless more people experience issues similar to yours.

On my x86_64 platform I had problems with the includes flac faad and sox binaries. So I suggest to remove these from the package, include the apropriate dependencies and symlink the binaries from /usr/bin
PKGBUILD:
12c12
< depends=('perl')
---
> depends=('perl' 'flac' 'faad2' 'sox' 'wavpack' 'mac')
26a28
> rm Bin/i386-linux/{flac,faad,wvunpack,sox,mac}
install:
3a4
> ln -s /usr/bin/flac /usr/bin/faad /usr/bin/sox /usr/bin/mac /usr/bin/wvunpack /opt/squeezebox-server/Bin/i386-linux
I could not find what the binaries mppdec and sls are.

ptwl, I built a package the way you did. Scanning is much faster, as dasch noted. After my scan though, the admin page showed nothing from my music collection even though it reported scanning 381 albums. My clients showed nothing either, though I could search and play anything in the database. I had to stop the service, kill an instance of perl that my "squeezebox" user was holding on to, and then restart the service. Now the music shows up and everything is working well.
