I noticed that the installation of this package adds en entry to /etc/hosts : 0.0.0.0 get.code-industry.net
❯ cat /var/lib/pacman/local/masterpdfeditor-free-4.3.89-1/install post_install() { echo '0.0.0.0 get.code-industry.net' >> /etc/hosts } post_remove() { sed -i '/get.code-industry.net/d' /etc/hosts }
Why this ?

Beware this version does add watermarks when some tools are used. For example, if you want to add a background colour, you will need to mark the option "The unregistered version will add a watermark" and then a watermark will be added together with the background colour.

Can someone tell me what's needed to get the OCR working? I copied the whole content of https://github.com/tesseract-ocr/tessdata to ~/.masterpdfeditor/tessdata/. The OCR goes through the whole document really fast, but it never finds anything.

Please do not flag as outdated: this is the latest free version. When you start Master PDF Editor it will say that there is a newer version but it is a 5.x version, and since 5.x had been introduced a watermark. If you want the latest non-free version please refer to: https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/masterpdfeditor
