I was with the same issue here... but now it works.
Go to: https://archive.archlinux.org/packages/s/systemd/ and download: systemd-248.3-2-x86_64.pkg.tar.zst
Then, go to: https://archive.archlinux.org/packages/s/systemd-libs/ and download: systemd-libs-248-3-x86_64.pkg.tar.zst
In your download directory, open a terminal and run the following:
sudo pacman -U systemd-248.3-2-x86_64.pkg.tar.zst systemd-libs-248-3-x86_64.pkg.tar.zst
Reboot and enjoy.

Downgrading systemd to 248.3 solves the issue

Could it be due to recent upgrade to systemd? I have the same problem.
