Maybe yes. Yesterday I was looking at the paraview file in /opt/OpenFOAM/OpenFOAM-4.x/etc/config.sh/ and the alternative one in the /opt/OpenFOAM/OpenFOAM-4.x/etc/config.sh/example/ As far as I've understood by using the foamEtcFile -all -list command which gives this result /home/xwang/.OpenFOAM/4.x /home/xwang/.OpenFOAM /opt/OpenFOAM/site/4.x /opt/OpenFOAM/site /opt/OpenFOAM/OpenFOAM-4.x/etc openfoam looks at these directory for configuration files. So maybe we should create a correct paraview configuration file with the path of the installed binary. Can you please try to see what change if the ParaView_DIR environment is set to match the installed paravie binary location (I'm unable to test until next weekend but if you find something useful, I should be able to update the PKGBUILD)?

Is there an environment variable missing?

Sorry for the confusion. Just ran into antran's problem and thought is has something to do with the PKGBUILD. As printed after the install one should install paraview from AUR.(https://aur.archlinux.org/cgit/aur.git/tree/openfoam.install?h=openfoam) Unfortunately paraFoam doesn't work.

git has not been updated to 4.1 yet. If it has been, please post a comment with the link before flagging (I wasn't able to find it) this package as out of date so that I can update the PKGBUILD. Thank you!

No solution how to run paraFoam... FATAL ERROR: ParaView reader module libraries do not exist Please build the reader module before continuing: cd $FOAM_UTILITIES/postProcessing/graphics/PVReaders ./Allwclean ./Allwmake ERROR: ParaView not found in /opt/OpenFOAM/ThirdParty-4.x/platforms/linux64Gcc/ParaView-5.0.1

I replaced the parmetis dependency with suitesparse which contains metis and causes a conflict with it. Building and installation worked, is there any disadvantage over using parmetis?

Yes. I followed your instruction and now icoFoam and pisoFoam worked but when I type paraFoam in the terminal I get this error FATAL ERROR: ParaView reader module libraries do not exist Please build the reader module before continuing: cd $FOAM_UTILITIES/postProcessing/graphics/PVReaders ./Allwclean ./Allwmake I tried to follow these instructions but still get error ERROR: ParaView not found in /opt/OpenFOAM/ThirdParty-4.x/platforms/linux64Gcc/ParaView-5.0.1 How can I fix it? Thank you in advance

Have you executed these commands: export FOAM_INST_DIR=/opt/OpenFOAM alias ofoam="source ${FOAM_INST_DIR}/OpenFOAM-4.x/etc/bashrc" in your terminal before running icoFoam? PS ThirdParty is empty because these programs are installed via their archlinux packages

I have installed sucessfully the software but I cannot run icoFoam or pisoFoam. Is the folder Thirdparty empty?
