So what are the current issues with this package? I tried the install and it worked without errors. The paraFoam didn't work initially but after adding: alias paraFoam='paraFoam -builtin' to the /opt/OpenFOAM/OpenFOAM-4.x/etc/bashrc file it works. Any one have other issues? I might be in for maintaining this if no one else is.

If this package continues to be maintained, there is a fix required for the check of scotch version. Now this line assumes scotch is provided by a package called "scotch", but it could be provided by another package like "scotch-openmpi", in which case the PKGBUILD fails when starting the build at the "pacman -Q scotch" call.

Has anyone tried it yet? http://www.openfoam.com/download/install-binary-linux.php

I'm unable to solve this issue. I'm going to try to use this installation method: http://www.openfoam.com/download/install-binary.php If it works without all these problems I'll disown this package.

Maybe yes. Yesterday I was looking at the paraview file in /opt/OpenFOAM/OpenFOAM-4.x/etc/config.sh/ and the alternative one in the /opt/OpenFOAM/OpenFOAM-4.x/etc/config.sh/example/ As far as I've understood by using the foamEtcFile -all -list command which gives this result /home/xwang/.OpenFOAM/4.x /home/xwang/.OpenFOAM /opt/OpenFOAM/site/4.x /opt/OpenFOAM/site /opt/OpenFOAM/OpenFOAM-4.x/etc openfoam looks at these directory for configuration files. So maybe we should create a correct paraview configuration file with the path of the installed binary. Can you please try to see what change if the ParaView_DIR environment is set to match the installed paravie binary location (I'm unable to test until next weekend but if you find something useful, I should be able to update the PKGBUILD)?
