!!! Please do NOT flag the package out of date just because a new version has been release. !!!

Parsec self-updates and as long as the package still installs (no sha256 mismatch), there is no reason to update it in the AUR as the .deb actually is an older version.

After the update at 2023-10-25 12:40 (EST), paru was giving me a validity check error... after downloading the file myself and manually checking sha256, I found it was correct, though paru still refused to update.

I was able to fix the issue by running "paru -Sc" to clean up the cache and when I tried to update again, it worked fine.

Just figured I'd put it out there in case anyone else had this issue.

libssl.so.1.1 is a requirement for the program to run, so it would be interesting to add openssl-1.1 as a dependency.

Is the arm deb package obtainable on the internet?

needs libxi dependency added. parsec fails to start from not being able to load it's .so without it.

Getting conflict with ffmpeg-obs is there any way to work around this?

looks like ffmpeg4.4 was added as dependency here:

Potentially needs pulseaudio-alsa (or the pipewire equivalent?) in the deps as it will otherwise fail to init sound with ALSA lib pcm_dmix.c:999:(snd_pcm_dmix_open) unable to open slave

When the support for other architectures was removed, the old arch variable was left in: https://aur.archlinux.org/cgit/aur.git/tree/PKGBUILD?h=parsec-bin&id=e49029cfcde82ae2f0d1dd09356a75bdeb8ffdef#n10 . Please remove it.

HW decoding is broken for me as well (intel chipset). No error in logs, just like it didn't even try to initiate libva. Tried to downgrade libva without any success

EDIT: https://www.reddit.com/r/ParsecGaming/comments/xg0vkn/lost_hardware_decode_on_linux_client/ the bug on parsec side, and it is more or less a wanted behaviour...

Any clues on what broke HW decoding recently? Nothing in the logs, the option just vanished from the UI

I'm out of town till next week.
I'll add the necessary dependency once I'm back.

As for now you can manually install ffmpeg4.4 which provides the missing lib.
This will the package I add as new dependency as well.
