Would you consider to switch it to https://github.com/jonls/redshift/pull/568? This seems to be updated version of the original attempt to implement wayland into redshift.

I just tested it with the branch from the PR with usage of the current PKGBUILD and it seems to work just fine. And I also do not have segfaults when I press Ctrl+C to kill running redshift process…

Hi @OhDaeto, I belive that the package 'wayland' is missing as a make dependencies (as well as the git package is). It would be lovely to update your package.

Thanks!

'git' is missing in makedepends and 'wayland' has to be added as dependency.

I'm getting an unexplained segfault running this with sway, even when I pass it the -v option the only info I get is Segmentation fault (core dumped) beyond the normal information about color temperatures and location. This only happens when passing it the -m wayland option. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Edit: This was because this only works when you are using wlc and sway's git versions and is not yet on the stable branch, installing sway-git fixes the problem.

@miha84, yes, you right, but you can use patched colord package or use future release of GNOME from git.

miku84 commented on 2017-02-06 15:27 (UTC)

On which environments does it work? Gnome/Plasma? Thanks!

Comminux commented on 2017-02-06 12:54 (UTC)

Please, update this package or replace to redshift-wayland-git!

HER0_01 commented on 2017-01-12 16:24 (UTC)

I think this package name/base should be changed. The wayland support in redshift is not specific to sway and was even made for orbital. Sway adopted the same api later, so that the same patch would work. Actually, it would make sense to add orbital-git as another optional dependency.
