To all having an issue with this driver: please try https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/rtl88xxau-aircrack-dkms-git alternatively.

Hi, I'm getting intermittent crashes that produce this: https://pastebin.com/5nQSPNeG Thanks for all your work.

I guess RTL8811AU/RTL8821AU users will have to switch (back) to rtl8812au_rtl8821au-dkms-git once this package is updated to v5.2.9, unless someone made it compatible with the aforementioned chipsets.

@greyone I did some searches and found out this has been reported 3 years ago here: https://github.com/abperiasamy/rtl8812AU_8821AU_linux/issues/12 There are a few suggestions to force the device to be recognised as USB 3 and I will need to test. Currently I am testing 5.2.9, with success so far. Will update the PKGFILE when I am sure it is working properly.

@zebulon I just decided to check it... As my device is usb3.0 by specifications and I was surprised. Anyway the driver is stable enough. Also I noticed in 5.2.9 the BitRate is reported with iwconfig.

@greyone: I never checked this value with older versions of the driver to be honest. Has it got incidence on the rate of data transfer, or is it only a cosmetic bug? I am limited by my ISP data anyway, but this could be an issue for network transfer of files.

@zebulon Currently I'm using 5.2.9 version from https://github.com/gordboy/rtl8812au and the device is still recognized as usb2.0: lsusb -D /dev/bus/usb/001/004 Device: ID 0bda:8812 Realtek Semiconductor Corp. RTL8812AU 802.11a/b/g/n/ac WLAN Adapter Device Descriptor: bLength 18 bDescriptorType 1 bcdUSB 2.00

@bhrgovlh I will check this. One github repository that could be tested is this one: https://github.com/gordboy/rtl8812au It includes the kernel patches, but you may lose the injection and monitor mode code from astsam if required.

@zebulon For RTL8812AU, will the driver 5.2.9 solve the issue of USB 3.0?

@a36233: the original branch works for me on 4.12, just edit the pkgbuild and use makepkg https://github.com/paspro/rtl8812au
