is there any way to revert python-fasttext as a dependency? updating searxng now adds 167 packages (!), including alsa, ffmpeg, gd, jack, intel-oneapi-compiler, mesa, speex, vulkan, xorg AND wayland...

python-fasttext has so many dependencies like pipewire-jack mesa etc. Is there any solutions for that? Dont want all this on my server.

python-fasttext has been added as dependency. I will remove python-langdetect dep once it is deprecated: https://github.com/searxng/searxng/pull/2019

Hello, for others failed to update or install it, now it seems to require python-fasttext(?) as dependency to work properly, because the developers added a new plugin "Autodetect search language" 3 days ago.

@CronyAkatsuki
In the file /etc/uwsgi/emperor.ini, I have:
and systemctl start uwsgi@searxng works for me. Do the same and it will work. Don't have a custom systemd service, use the default one offered by uwsgi.
CronyAkatsuki commented on 2022-11-11 07:37 (UTC)
The systemd service tries to start /usr/bin/uwsgi --ini with this path /etc/uwsgi/searxng.ini but on its actually in /etc/uwsgi/vassals/searxng.ini.
Does the service need updatign or something?

A quick warning for users: the Oscar theme has now been removed, so you'll need to remove its definition from settings.yml. If you've got it selected as default in your browser, you need to remove it from there as well. I found that trying to change it on the settings page didn't help, so I had to find the cookie that specified "oscar" and delete that. Without removing these, you'll get a crash when you try to search.

@Zepman Hello. python-redis is a community orphan package: https://archlinux.org/packages/community/any/python-redis/
The version used was 4.0.1 when you submitted your request: https://github.com/archlinux/svntogit-community/commits/packages/python-redis/trunk
You can see two related PR: https://github.com/redis/redis-py/issues/1725 and https://github.com/redis/redis-py/pull/1726 ; and this was fully fixed with the 4.0.2 release. We are now with python-redis 4.3.4 on ArchLinux and you should no longer get this warning.
I contacted the previous packager of python-redis as he should add python-hiredis as an optdepend of python-redis. A bug has been assigned to a Trusted User as well and I contacted him to see where we are standing on this issue.
