@fow0ryl: It seems like an intentional change (https://github.com/signalapp/Signal-Desktop/commit/5a3c9c7332b1525ba4ede2f0febf109099d34452). The app is now picking up locale from the environment using an Electron API (or your desktop environment). Please report it upstream: https://github.com/signalapp/Signal-Desktop/issues/new?assignees=&labels=&template=bug_report.md&title=

For anyone desperate or relying on Signal Desktop for chat, follow this github issue step to get back on.
Solution for those on Arch Linux. Install the signal-desktop package from the Community repo via pacman.
Then don't start Signal, but rename the folder ~/.config/Signal Beta to ~/.config/Signal (or make a copy).
Then when you start Signal all your history will still be there.
Confirmed working myself. I removed signal-desktop-beta-bin, install signal-desktop from community repo, mv ~/.config/Signal\ Beta ~/.config/Signal.

Unhandled Promise Rejection
This has been closed by upstream as a Arch Linux specific problem. Please see: https://github.com/signalapp/Signal-Desktop/issues/5528
I highly doubt that this is Arch specific as it seems to be related to the internal DB migration of Signal.

Thanks. They updated the repo, seems only sha has to be modified here now.

5.11.0beta.2 was available on the apt repos when I released it (I have it installed!), but it seems like the release was yanked without notice. I've created an issue with upstream: https://github.com/signalapp/Signal-Desktop/issues/5422

Getting a 404 on downloading 5.11.0beta.2-1 from signal server, but I see this version is released on github. Is it just for me? or has the Signal team has not updated their .deb this time?
