Have you tried building in a clean chroot?

Would you mind testing siril-git-1.2.0.r538.g22ca41c40-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.zst [link no longer available] to see if it has the same problem?

@xiota I had base-devel installed, I wouldn't be able to build AURs without it. I also checked, I had libcurl-gnutls installed too.

But still couldn't use Photometric CC. I needed to install gvfs. With gvfs Siril's PCC works now.

On Arch, core/curl is required by core/base-devel, which is a requirement for using the AUR. Since it is always installed, it doesn't have to be listed in depends.

If some dependencies are optional, not having them will not enable some features, I don't see a problem with that. If you want networking, use libcurl. I'm not sure which libcurl package is required on Arch. On debian it's libcurl4-gnutls-dev. Photometric color correction requires a star catalogue, either downloaded by Siril when used or installed locally by users.

It is said that libcurl is optional to check for the updates. Since we use aur to manage updates, I would think that's not neededed. Especially not that it's the requirement for photometric cc to work.

From the user perspective, this filter didn't work and it took me a bit to figure it why. Console didn't provide any meaningful message. IMO, core Sirill features should work out of the box, be it libcurl or gvfs or whatever, something of these should be required.

libcurl-gnutls is already in the optional dependencies, gvfs is not needed if you have curl

Siril cannot fetch Photometric CC data without gvfs package. Please make it required for installing. It's a crucial feature.

Optional dependencies that are not enabled must be disabled when compiling with meson, with an option like -Dlibraw=false

Eidokan commented on 2023-10-18 18:04 (UTC)

Looks like version 1.2 depends on libraw as well by default. I got the following error message:

meson.build:363:15: ERROR: Dependency "libraw" not found, tried pkgconfig and cmake

With an additional libraw dependency this compiles without issues.
