@Omar007 @steadfasterX Thank you very much for your answers.

@taotieren; what @steadfasterX said is correct. The software in question is not a part of this software so it would/should be a completely separate package.
If you want to go down the road of making a package for it, you technically can but it'll probably be quite a bit more complicated as you'll have to use WINE to use that piece of software; as @steadfasterX also mentioned, it seems to be Windows only software.

sp mdt tool is windows only afaik and that would be not part of this package anyways

Hi, is it possible to add the package spmdttool? Thanks.
Omar007 commented on 2023-10-19 15:30 (UTC)
@dreieck; that is not the case. You're misreading the file. It only applies to MediaTek MT65xx Preloader devices, it does not touch any other devices.

Please do not install
60-spflashtool.rules
by default, or please modify it.Reason: What you do now makes all
/dev/ttyACM[0-9]
devices read- and writable by all.But there might be
/dev/ttyACM[0-9]
devices which come from other hardware present onboard the machine or connected. You open a potential big security hole.Better: Leave it alone and install
60-spflashtool.rules
into/usr/share/doc/spflashtool/
and print a notification via the$install
script.Never automatically mess with stuff that can also belong to other use cases!
Regards and thanks for maintaining.
