Thanks. Agordejo is recommended. Upshot of the #lad convo was that -controls and Cadence both have a form of a "DE" relationship towards managing user specific configuration (dbus and/or modifying ~ configs) and that they do the same thing differently.

More optdepends with new commit version:

  • carla : Audio Plugin Host
  • agordejo : A music production session manager
  • raysession : Session manager for audio programs using the Non Session Manager (NSM) API

And there is too nsm, but I haven't find it for ArchLinux

To keep folk in the loop, I asked this yesterday;

[15:21] <milkii> falktx dvzrv OvenWerks; regarding getting the studio-controls-git PKGBUILD to a better state - https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/studio-controls-git/#comment-773221 - if Cadence leaves a file that might conflict with studio-controls, which PKGBUILD should oversee the testing / touching / ownership / refreshing / removal of that file? asking a bad/open question because i can't think of a better way of putting it yet. (i do remember this chat from before as to why Cadence is not in Ubuntu).

Cheers Marzal. Updates made. I'll also try confirm in #lad about what state should be cleaned up at what point(s).

Another dep -> a2jmidid

FileNotFoundError: [Errno 2] No such file or directory: '/usr/bin/a2jmidid'

More deps (taken from de .deb):

Others optdepends -> libffado + pulseaudio-jack

optdepends=('realtime-privileges: Realtime privileges for users'
        'pulseaudio-jack: PulseAudio to JACK bridge'
        'libffado: Driver for FireWire audio devices'
        'qastools: qasmixer desktop mixer application'
        'pavucontrol: PulseAudio Volume Control')

conflicts -> cadence (as per told in the docs) which I'm been using.

I've tried to clean all the changed files, but with no luck. Unistalling cadence and deleting some config files

rm -f ~/.config/jack/conf.xml # I only had the first one ~/.jackdrc ~/.config/rncbc.org/QjackCtl.conf

helps autojack start (systemctl --user status studio.service), with those changes I get a clean boot process, but jack still won't start through studio-controls

jack message received: jack server is not running or cannot be started

Cheers folks. studio-controls has stopped segfaulting on my system so I adopted this PKGBUILD again and have made the suggested changes. Currently; "AttributeError: Handler button_cb not found" is #5 on GH. Any further feedback welcome.

Since 2.05 it seems that also depends on zita-ajbridge

I had the same problem described in this thread: https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=259294

After checking the changelog in the upstream, I found that "python3-alsaaudio" is a dependency since version 2.0.0

I fixed the problem by installing this package: https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/python-pyalsaaudio

Making this package depends or at least optdepends= (realtime-privileges) could help

I had a problem with this package, which was due to /etc/security/limits.d/audio.conf not being present in my system. It worked well for me to follow this (step 1) https://jackaudio.org/faq/linux_rt_config.html

On IRC they said:

Studio Controls should have made that file for you. If it didn't, then there's an error in the packaging and it needs to be reported to the AUR packager.
